This was at Mike Morgan's "invitational jam" at Django on the Parkway. Gary, as always had a weird story to tell. He had left Austin late and stopped at the Czech Stop in West to grab a kolache, a quick shave, and refresh before completing the drive to Addison. As he walked out to the van he watched a lady back into him. Just a typical Gary
Joe Btfsplk moment. He decided right then that the name of the band that night would be
Crash Kolache and the Little Shavers. There's lots of photos of Gary playing harp, but not so many of him playing guitar. He borrowed this one from Mike Morgan. The great Bill Campbell accompanies.
