The photo above (and a lot more) were taken at the 4050 Club in east Fort Worth. Pictured with Nick are Miss Pinky (L) and Miss Kim, daughters of Fort Worth blues singer Lady Pearl. Miss Kim also performed at this gig along with her uncle Ray Reed. As always, I passed along some prints to all. About a year later I get a call from Nick asking if they could use the photo above for his new CD. I told him if I could get the OK from Miss Kim and Miss Pinky, and if the record label would credit them and provide them with a copy of the new CD, then it was fine with me. The folks at Blind Pig called me shortly after, in a big hurry to start layout of the new CD. I told them I still didn't have an OK from the ladies. It took awhile to track them down, but eventually Miss Kim said it was cool with them. I got back with Blind Pig and told them I had the OK and asked if they needed a hi res scan. They said no, it was already done and laid out and the CDs were already being pressed. I guess they used one of the prints I had given Nick.
Miss Kim and Miss Pinky are both church going girls. Before I sent them their CDs, I had to call Miss Kim and apologize profusely as I had no idea that photo would be used with the theme "Player". Miss Kim is also a very talented singer. I got the photo credit in the CD but the ladies did not receive credit.
